I've decided. Every week, I'll do a review on something interesting on the net, in addition to posting some random sites I've discovered on Digg/Stumbleupon. This is so as to improve eveyone's quality of life, injecting some much needed fun and refreshing one's minds.

So let's cut the crap and get going!

For this issue, I'd like to introduce a very damn addicting flash game.



Ball Revamped 5: Synergy!

The aim is to move a ball around using WASD or arrow keys into a goal, avoiding mines, flowers, walls and moving blocks in the process. 1 level doesn't take that long and it's quite enjoyable to constantly level up to see more and more shits coming your way.

If someone were to kill others for their so-called "the greater good of mankind", what do you think?

If someone were to wage war on another for their so-called "to protect the poor", what would it mean?

Which side of the anime character would you stand on?

Returning back from reality, doesn't it strike an uncanny resemblance to the situation our world's in now?

Palenstine, Pakistan, Kenya, Israel etc etc. I believe all of them are fighting for their so-called beliefs and justice, that's why they're willing to fight.

Noble?

I don't really know. How would you differentiate a martyr from a suicide bomber? By their surname and dick size?

You know, I was discussing with my friend the other day about the war on Obama i mean, Osama by President George Bush. Other than him looking like a monkey... and being one, I can't help but shower bits of pity for him.

I mean, throw yourself in his shoes. You're the President of the USA. Tiba-tiba, while you were watching Man Utd thrash Arsenal 4-0 (woots woots), 2 big flies accidentally bang into the World Trade Center. Many people die, many jobs lost, economy confirm will go down. What will you do?

Are you going to face the people of USA on national tv and declare that "We will take revenge!" like a proper leader who is suppose to protect his people? Or you want him to utter to the whole world that "War will only take lifes. We will not go to war and we request that Obama Osama will turn himself in." which I guess you know how the outcome will be.

So basically, he had no other choice but to go to war. Completely played into a puppet by Osama. Poor thing right?

But that's the only thing I pity him about I guess.

He's still a monkey in a human suit.

I just finished a 25 episode anime series called "Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion" (wiki). Its storyline comprises of a combination of deathnote and warfighting, telling the story of a 2010 Japan which has been taken over by the almighty empire of Britannia, with one of its forsaken prince, Lelouch Lamperough leading revenge and an uprising.

Now, now, this is not an anime blog, don't fret.

But before I stop, I must say that the Code Geass's quite nice lah. War flick plus minimal romance and tactical mind games. There was a part where Lelouch kinda screwed up, and I was shouting "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU SCREWED UP!?" to my innocent computer screen.

And 2 episodes later, I was still muttering to myself, "I can't believe he screwed up... I can't believe he screwed up...".

Repeat as necessary.

Now, now, now, this is NOT an anime blog, don't fret.

After I finished watching, I kinda related the whole experience to the "Kira-aka-Light" series. Both guys wanted to take over the world and fight for justice. Both got special powers. Both also fight fight fight, screwed up a bit (only exciting mah), end up in not so happy states.

I guess anime viewers don't like to see radical changes huh?

Oh well, "Code Geass: R2"'s coming out this April. Bet ya that I'll be waiting.

YouTube Project: Direct

I was surfing on YouTube this morning for a video clip of Man Utd's two-nil win over Reading. Superb one-touch by Rooney, as expected of him.

As I was doing so, I stumbled upon YouTube's Project Direct competition, where people are invited to submit video entries of their work. Extract:

Project Direct was a film challenge for directors with something to say. Of the many excellent short films submitted, 20 were selected as finalists by award-winning filmmaker Jason Reitman and a panel of industry experts. The YouTube community then voted for their favorites.

Yeap, the competition's was all over and the results were announced in December. =X But I still wanted to share the videos with you guys. I mean, okay... I'm outdated *rolls eyes*, but I do know a good film when I see one.

Laços (Ties): Project: Direct 1st Place



It's a deep clip; while most of the dialogue is pretty mind-boggling, the actual meaning of the show hits on later. Well, I wouldn't actually flame the show, maybe due to the fact that it's in a foreign language, but I'll let you guys form your own opinions. Nice movement on the cameras too, definitely classy takes during the running scenes right in front.

Gone in a Flash: Project: Direct 2nd Place



This is my personal fave, as it's really a "sweat" kinda of clip. The dog's cute, but the chick's much cuter. Gosh, I'm blushing *lol* I'm no camera/video expert, but the extensive use of focus got me really tied, and the excellent music score gave the video clip a beautiful humorous touch to it, not forgetting that the actors rocked too.

My Name is Lisa: Project: Direct 3rd Place



A strong contrast to the prior films. It's simple in terms of camera effects, but the storyline completely stands out from the three, which twists in a sad tinge of melancholicity, very thought provoking. The young actor did well, and according to the director, the whole film was taken in a day. Cool huh?

So that sums it up, for the first three placing. Do remember to check 0ut the seperate video's cut scenes or directors vlog... then you'll be able to appreciate the clips better. Real good job done. Anyone up for a collab?

Going to pyramid was never this fatal.

Talking about road of a thousand deathwishes.

Saturday, i went out with Tuan (a.k.a. silversnow/eat/showtime) and Richard (a.k.a. richard/nomes) to Pyramid. Since Tuan had gotten his Satria not too long from his brother, we decided to take it out for a spin.

Tuan, who has not been driving for the whole of last year and got himself into accidents with walls and drains when he did (try to park in totally vacant car park... imagine that.), kindly offered the opportunity to Richard.

The last Richard came with a diesel-eating manual Hilux.

Now he comes with a modified-for-racing manual Satria.

Suddenly, the Hilux idea didn't seem as bad after all...


Tuan. Empty car park also scratch his own car.


Richard. Driver in question.

Now... Pyramid has a parking system where you spiral up the floors first, then only to come down floor by floor to get parking lots.

traffic jammed at the spiraling slopes + manual car + modified exhaust = NOT FUN

R: "traffic jam here..?" (balances car)
(car grunts: VROOOOMMMMMMMMM...)

(silence)

Me: "eh, i think we're dropping down."

R: "Nevermind, we got handbrake."

Ho ho ho... but anyways, we managed to park safely and in time to catch Happy Feet. It's quite a waste of time and the storyline sucks. All it did was to bring lip-synching to a new level. Okie la, the CGI weren't bad and the story had some truth to it, eg the penguin's survival. Imho, if you haven't watched in, don't bother. Might as well spend the money to watch Cicakman. Lagi Shiok.

The Manchester United - Chelsea match ended with a 1-1 draw. Kinda disappointing thou, ManU dominated for the whole of first half before Chelsea actually "woke up" and many chances in front of the goalpost was wasted. 6 points lead mah. Amusingly, my championship manager played the same match this afternoon, ended up with a 1-1 draw too. Hehe.. so ngam eh?

FINALLY. BLOG IS UP AGAIN.

Ok. That statement is actually quite inaccurate. Why? well... the blog was never down, in a sense, just, erm.. "replaced".

Took me quite some while to do this, almost 3-4 days. If you're thinking it was the graphics, nope. In fact, they were relatively completed on the first night itself. The real problems arose when i was trying to make the blog perform what I wanted it to do.

To tell the truth, this version is almost a deviation of 50% from what i wanted.

But oh well, you can't get stuff done your way all the while i guess. After spending almost 2 full days of frustration and schieving nothing, I thought maybe i should just settle for something *less* spectacular. Yar... i badly wanted to present a nice blog layout I had envisioned.

Oh well, this template is still under progress. A few bugs are yet to be fixed. One of them would be the older posts are all camoflauged by the baackground black. I have no idea why, as I have already ascertained that all font color in the script are "#000000".

Another would be to change the topic size. Slightly too small huh?

Also, i can't get rid of the navibar no matter what i do. This cannot be la.

Aiya.. will try another day. 5am now. Me wants to sleep le. At least this buggy version is presentable gua... ^^

I love my photoshopped picture. Just in time for christmas. Wooooo~

By right, i SHOULD be blogging more often, and on top of that, be putting more efforts into this blog.

But at the time being... I am handling a few projects of my own leh... Call me a busy person if you want too. =) Either that or if you know Malay, you can call me "cari pasal". Worse still, if you're a frequent forum-surfer, "NBTD".

And one of them is to break the mysterious puzzle of Petals Around The Roses. Link

This game ah, was introduced by the two greatest fools of my life. One is Jeon and the other is Kendrick. Goodness.. they showed me this middle of last year and i told them that I'll break it, supposingly the cleverer you are, the longer you'll take to solve it. Hey, it ain't easy alright? You throw five dices and supposely you would have to guess a number. =.=

Easy? There're only three things you'll need to know about the game:

"I can tell you only three things: the name of the game, the fact that the answer is always even, and the answer for any particular throw. In this case the answer is two."

Great la, by taking almost a year to solve a problem like this, it demostrates how intellegent I am.



If you're a person up for puzzles that are superbly mind-booggling, give it a try. And don't bother to google for the answer, supposely people who are able to get the answer are sworned to keep it a secret as a member of the Fraternity of Petals Around the Rose. Cool huh?
