Today, I spent close to 5 hours (the entire afternoon) trying to edit Kay Ryln's, a colleague of mine, birthday video. However, issues and problems just keep popping up one after another, which is really, really frustrating. What's more frustrating is that at the end, you still end up with nothing to show for the entire afternoon's effort!
But as of this point now, I've not given up yet. I'm still downloading a software which might either
1. solve the entire issue of MPEG-2s for me,
2. solve the issue after a lot of trouble shooting, or
3. not solve anything for me at all.
Which kinda strikes a chord with me all of a sudden... Aren't all problems in life the same?
1. You manage to solve a life problem easily.
2. You solve it still, but not after countless attempts.
3. Sadly, after trying, you don't solve it.
In this case, we can probably generalize and prepare ourselves for whatever outcomes any dilemmas might pose to us.
And honestly, 2 positives out of 3 outcomes gives you a majority, if assuming that the above three outcomes hold for all.
When you meet with something of which you are prepared for, you tend to be able to take it on. It's the un-preparable stuff that hits you off your ledge.
How's knowing that all problems in life have a 2/3 chance of success for thought?

Resolutions for the year 2010.
It's gonna be a good year I think. Feels quite auspicious. So for that, I hope my resolutions will come true too!
1. Climate change agreement. (see above) (For whatever agenda that China & the other nations have, I hope that they reap the full seeds of their own destruction themselves.)
2.
3. I fasttrek and become a partner of PwC.
4. Wake up one day to find a briefcase full of cash next to me. Okay, no need to wake up also can.
5.Malaysia Rooney to singlehandedly lead England to win World Cup 2010.
6. Have a healthy lifestyle and do more exercise, e.g., hiking, jogging etc.
7. Perform satisfactory in work.
8. Know more people, and learn to keep in good touch with existing ones.
9. Save as much money as I can for future purposes.
10. Look and plan, 3 years into the future.
Ok, list not finished, but I kinda have 3 reports to rush... so much for having a healthy lifestyle. Happy New Year peeps!!!
PS. Gonna catch Zombieland later. Heard that its pretty good! Can't wait! :O

Higher Guidance has guided me to this...
ROAR~!
After such a long absence, I have finally managed to find the time and space to squeeze in one blog update. I must say that at times I have found it quite boring to update this sweet child of mine, as well as I have found it quite taxing on myself to find something interesting to update all the time. For one, I currently have no convenient way of uploading pictures to both this blog and my facebook account, leaving both currently covered in weed and wild grass. If my both accounts were a garden, my blog would be Endou Rompin and Taman Negara respectively.
Quite a lot of things have happened to date, one of which that I'm gradually getting used to working life. Of course from time to time, I have found it depressing and hard to cope with, but I constantly have to remind myself of the previous hardships and preparations I have done for this. To date, 2 of my colleagues have confirmed their resignation after a mere period of 1 month plus, and I do believe that this is probably for the best in their lives. People might label me as inflexible, but I feel that I might be able to hack a path thro' this wretched jungle of bureacracy and long working hours to achieve the aims that I have previously set out to do.
Another is that I have gotten my car! Yay, hooray to freedom *Presidential Salute* and hooray to freedom from the KTM *21 Gunshots* and also hooray to more work.
*takes one of the guns and shoots myself*
And if anyone was asking about any of my future plans, nope, no plans to get a girlfriend as yet. Now, turn your kaypoh eyes away and keep them focused on your work/exams. The more pressing concern for me now would be to get myself a proper residential place to stay in; the date that I'm moving out is getting closer and closer, and I have unfortunately been booked for more jobs on the weekend. Any help right now on this would really, really be appreciated!
And lastly, on a void of topics to talk about right now, I'm guessing that with the new environment that I'm in now, many of my workmates would be stumbling onto this ancient blog space of mine. For the newcomers, Chun Howe / Chunhowe / Mr Chai says a huge big wobbly...

PwC so far.
Everything's good, everything's great!
Met new, interesting people in the past couple of days that have radically changed my entired mindset. My focus is at quite a different level now and I hope this will not dwindle over the next couple of months.
The entire gang of new joiners are this bunch of diverse, crazy people who are really fun to hang out with and free-flowing. There are all kinds of people in the group, so it has really been an enlightening experience just to meet with so much people.
Honestly, I can really say that PwC staff are quite nice, and the colleagues and seniors who I have met and spoken to are really, really nice people who are so willing to help you out and explain everything to you as much as they can.
As such, I aspire to learn as much as I can, absorb everything like a bloody Whisper, and aim for the freaking peak of the world.
Sorry to the people who I have not contacted so far since my return. And also for not updating my blog as I have previously promised: 2 times a week at least. But 1. My internet at home sucks like crazy, and 2. By the time I reach home via the KTM, it's already 8-9pm, so I really have not much more energy to do anything else except to chill out and relax.
Anyway, anyone meeting up for this weekend let me know! We can go gather-gather yumcha-yumcha! :D

Yes We Can
Today was the first day of my PricewaterhouseCooper work experience. I did not really know what to expect from myself and PwC today.
So ganchiong that I almost woke up late on my first day.
But lucky I planned to wake up earlier today, so equal out la~
Anyway, I managed to arrive at work today ngam ngam on time. :D There was about 101 of us new trainees alongside various HR staff. Even the afamed Dato Johan (Chairman of PwC) came down for a session of corporate governance (what else could he talk about to us regarding? He's the darn Chairman of some corporate governance board in Malaysia).
Lunch was fine. Sessions were fine (diplomacy exercised). Teabreak was okay-okay la. Just that the poor Muslims cannot eat, a bit poor thing lo.
And we learned about confidentiality today. Never talk about business sensitive stuff in public places, okay?
The main rant I wanted to blast about today (after an absence of like what, 1 month ah?) was the BLOODY Keretapi Tanah Melayu a.k.a. KTM!
OMG LEH! I got off at KL Sentral at around 615 lah. Waited for KTM to go back home, which was approximately 7-10 minutes away by train. When I went down, I had just missed the previous one, which was okay la, by the sense that shit happens sometimes. So okay la, nevermind, wait only la.
Wait wait wait.... wait for 40 minutes only did the bloody KTM come, skipping one train in the process (trains are scheduled to come every 20 minutes). I got on, squeezed on, packed on by the pushing crowd like there was a bomb alert in KL Sentral la! But again, if the next train that came was 40 minutes away, I think anyone would die-die-pun-nak-squeeze-on la!
Then hor, yours faithfully realised that he boarded the wrong train (in Subang Jaya's direction. Habit la. *facepalm*). So he had to get down the train, cross the other side, and wait for a train in the opposite direction.
FOR 40 MINUTES!
K.N.N.!
THEN ANOTHER 40 MINUTES FOR THE RIGHT WAY BACK HOME.
K.N.N.!!!
So I took 3 hours to reach home. On my very first day of work.
But guess what was that really made today so memorable?
You know you've had a bloody good day, when on the train stop before your eventual one, a super cute girl gets constantly squeezed onto you in the bloody packed and crowd-pushing train.
Loveydovey-sigh. *nosebleeds*

4
It is weird how I have been so busy over the past weeks, tired from travelling and from work. My job used to bring me all the way from morning waking up at 6am to arriving at home at 7pm, that often when I came back with a couple of hours free, it would all end up so quickly finished. Even the weekends, I would be so occupied that I wouldn't be able to find any time during the weekends for myself.
But last friday was the last day of work. Came the weekends, and I realise that I had nothing to look forward to all of a sudden.
No more work concerns, no more "I have to sleep early tonight or else I will screw myself up tomorrow at work" etc.
All of a sudden, as was the whole of today, I felt like an empty shell, devoid of life and existance.
Trying to fill up that void made me very frustrated today. I didn't feel like going out, nor did I feel like doing anything else but to stay at home. I felt very withdrawn.
For the first time in a very long time, I felt vulnerable, inconfident, and afraid of interacting with other people around me.
4 days left.

15 / 6 Life Lessons I Have Learnt This Week.
At part of my first couple of steps into the working world, I must say that the lesson that I have learnt today would be one of my most, most important ones in this glorious life of mine.
Albeit at an expensive price... And before you scream or shout at me "WHAT DID YOU PAY FOR IT!?", let me narrate the story at my leisure, lelax'd pace.
Just recently, I went for a trip overseas, in which I was not that well prepared in terms of cash. I had not exchanged any euros in anticipation of this trip, nor did I had checked my bank account balance before I left. I had a vague idea that I was rich (lol), so I happily used my debit card to withdraw a couple of euros.
And with that "couple" of withdrawal, I got a kinda overdrawn by a "couple" of pounds.
In which the bank issued me a charge for an "informal overdraft arrangement fee" for 50 pounds.
50 KNN-ing POUNDS!!!
*stares ahead blankly*
That's like the equivalent of a pair of very nice LEVIS jeans, or a really nice meal at Angus Steakhouse, or the equivalent of a new camera bag which I have been aiming for sometime of which if you like, you may buy it for me here. If you like, that's the same as RM250-300. Just imagine how many times you could have eaten KFC?
I went to the bank today for other issues today, but I also tried to see if I could negotiate/persuade/charm any possible souls I could get my hands on into sympathising with my predicament and probably waiving it.
So after queueing for 20 minutes, this gentlemen called Daniel came to me. He was just a "Customer Service Rep" (read: unimportant, powerless and generally there to get rid of unimportant customers). So I explained my whole story: Oh, didn't realise overdraft, apologetic, I'm a student, no money, leaving the country soon, looking to close account soon etc etc. I played one of my card, saying:
"Daniel, you see, if I pay this 50 pounds, I will have problems paying for the next week's living expenses..."
"Oh that's no problem, you can arrange for a formal overdraft with our lending department. They'll be able to help you."
"But I'm leaving the country next week?"
"Oh it's okay, you can close the account even from overseas. They will be able to arrange for you to transfer or pay by installments from abroad."
"And how much do you charge for a account payment from overseas?"
"20 pounds."
"Err, wait... I have an overdraft of 50 pounds, and you want me to spend 20 pounds to pay off the 50 pounds?"
Looking at me smuggly, "Yes sir".
In which I must come to the 6 lessons I have learnt today...
1. Banks are bloodsuckers.
2. Banks will not give up on monies that are already in their pockets.
3. Banks will not care about unimportant little people who only have an account worth a hundred pounds. Like you and me.
4. If you look too kind, or too like Buddha himself, thou shalt not even get pass the Bank's receptionist.
4. Hell yea, even if Jesus came down to settle his overdraft, the Banks will shout "EHHH KAWAN~", show him to a private room, and inside it, gladly stone him on a cross again and ship him off Fedex to Africa.
5. If you plan to open a bank account in the future, and plan to use it as your main active account, you bloody well read all the fine print with a microscope and explore secondary details you might need, like credit card terms, loans and even overdrafts. Reminder to set up any overdraft facilities, as one, the Banks will gladly let you go overdraft, and two, trust me, it is so bloody easy to be in red.
6. Marry a banker.
I am poor.

34
My ladyboss had a sudden turn of mood today, offering to make us lunch instead of the normal takeaways of Uncle Sam's fried chicken, or baguettes from the local sandwich shop.
I haven't eaten home-made 扣肉 for such a long time!!!
Chunhowe is feeling *blessed*~ LOL!
On another note, I find myself really short of time these days, even during the weekend. There's always something to do. After work, I come back home to find myself too exhausted to do anything else, let alone plan for any trips for the remaining month I have in the UK.
I haven't watched any movies at home for a long time now, finding myself unable to afford the 2 hours that I need to relieve myself of all duties and things on my mind.
Is this a pre-cursor of the hell that I'm going to face in KL when I balik? Damn hell, I'm sure this is peanuts compared to the sh*t I'm going to face as an auditor.
We can only plan for so much. The rest is up to... G.O.D.
Grow Or Die.

Opportunity Cost.
Having a rare, occasional break at work, I decided to take a peek at what additional trips I could take. The prices for such trips recently has increased exponentionally due to it being the summer and the holiday season.
I compared various budget airlines, the prices were close. I wanted to get the cheapest fares available, but that would span over the weekdays, ie. Monday - Thursday. The flight are slightly cheaper, but that would mean losing out on being able to work and gain income on weekdays - Opportunity cost!
Sometimes, management accounting should never be taught to the budget traveller. It's bad for the heart.

My new room quick post. :D
Yup just finished moving to my new place. So far so good, spacious room, nice roommate, cleaniness... ok la, but it's not that I'm that particular anyway. Everything's settled down for the next 2 months, finally!
Just looked at my schedule over the next few days, just have bits of regrets that 1, I don't think I'll be able to do a photoshoot with my "favourite:" model, and 2, Andrew's going back soon...!!! I want to go on EPIC trip to some foreign land with Andrew...!!! T.T
Ok la, maybe not.
Haha!
K la, nights to all! Working early morning tomorrow. My supervisor's leaving at the end of this week and my colleague and I will have a huge gap to fill by then. If only I wasn't that tied down with being tasked with designing their website, I would have been able to concentrate more efforts on learning the ropes. Oh well.
When I finish the website, I post up here la... Comments and criticisms la, ok? :)

Over!
MY FINAL DAY OF ACCA!
OVER!
OVER!
MERDEKA!!!
Haha, for those people still mugging for their exams, you deserve it good luck!
I almost had a muscle cramp yesterday. I was trying so hard to stop myself from grinning that I almost cramped my frowning muscles.
: DDD
Anyway, it's time for me to start planning for what I want to do for the remaining period I have, what I want to buy etc. I'm looking at visiting the places I want to go, with a priority of working FT and going on weekend trips as much as I can, being summer now too. Also, I am looking to step up for a camera upgrade in lens, sad to say that I know that I've been saying that since ages, but I always put it off in search of better prices.
Saving the odd quid or so doesn't really make sense when in the end, it's that odd quid that stops you from buying what you want. All hail the power of 1 pound! 5.33 ringgit!

Panic at the Office
Kanina, secretly blogging from office right now.
My supervisor, boss and everyone else is in a meeting with a couple of Japanese people trying to promote their sakes, and I'm left alone in the office left to receive phone calls and take up orders.
See? If you are unfamiliar with your product range, when can deliver, how many bottles in a case etc., and worst still, in addition to that don't understand a single shit of cantonese, you will be panicking like shit now, just like me.
God, please please please let there be no orders today! >_<

A New Friend
I accompanied my friend to the Healthrow Airport today to pick up his dog, which was sent over allll the way from HK. 900 pounds leh, the cost was! I can't imagine how many lenses/Italian suits I can make with that money jor!
But anyway, the story was Woody (the dog, a Miniature Snaucher) used to stay in Hong Kong, according to kawan saya, so they really don't get much space to move around. When we picked him up from the Animal Reception Center and as the lady let him out of his cage, he jumped like crazy, all excited and sniffing everything in sight. And when we brought him out, he went completely amok, needing us all our energy to pull him back from getting runned over by cars.
But worth it, Woody is soooo damn cute!
Today left house at 1200, walked to train station, walk back from train station (forgot take wallet *facepalm*), walk to train station again, take tube, meet friend, take tube to airport, meet receptionist, take bus, meet dog, carry cage, take bus back, take tube, take train, change train, take train, walk dog, walk dog, walk dog, talk to dog, take train, change train, take train, change tube, walk home and reached at 2000.
TIRED LIKE SHIT LA!
But worth it, know new friend today! (kyaaa! \ q o∀o p /)
On another note, my landlord sold the kittens away last week, as the cost of maintaining them had been quite unaffordable. Mimi, their mum, has been looking for them for a couple of days now, peeking underneath the sofa at times and searching underneath the shelves that they used to hide in. At times, she would "meow" for them, but the only reply she'd get is total silence.
Sometimes, she would just sit there, meowing in low, sad tone.
I guess humans and animals aren't that different after all.

Some seriousssss blogging!

I haven't eaten since 4pm and then, I only ate a pack of Asam Laksa Maggi Noodles, preceded by 2 slices of toast with jam. So much for eating and drinking well? Maybe that's the reason I'm not really energised now.
Sigh, many things have happened and it's just rather imposing an uneasy feeling on me. It's hard to handle so many things at once, and having the occasionally sudden free day off to do nothing at home, you're suddenly surrounded by a haunt of troubles all of a sudden.
What happen to the old self where I can just think of nothing else and do what I want And this is the beginning of times, imagine what will happen as time goes on.
And people keep saying that I'm soooooooooo young, yet, I'm feeling as old as Madonna is.
Oh well, what to do? Pick up your bags and keep your mind clear of what's truly important in life.
OK, now that the emo-ring is finally over, let's get down to some serious blogging!
1. Through Andrew, I have been given the opportunity to buy a certain camera lens which I have been lacking for so long and yet not have. Half of the day had me distracted from my past year questions, looking at prices and comparing them across continents (US, UK, Malaysia/Firsthand, secondhand).
2. Then came the period of restlessness when I had to meet a friend to pass her a DVD at my local bus station, but I forgot, thus going out with a totally screwed up hair-do. Imagine my head with 2 wings - yes that was how my hair was. And I had to meet her... and her boyfriend. >_<
This girl... Girls like her who come to a completely new country and are suddenly given freedom might find their lives spiralling out of their hands. They might think that what they have is tonnes of empowerment but in my eyes, I seriously think that she might be messing up her own life.
3. Since coming back, I haven't been able to settle down properly. Oh well, at least I'm using some music player which displays downloaded lyrics to pick up cantonese from canto songs now. GIVE ME SOME CANTO SONGS!
4. And I can't wait to head back. Urgh.
Sigh, just one of those vulnerable nights when someone can just cut you open with a leaf. A palm tree one somemore.

MY KITTENS ARE SO DAMN CUTE LA!
The kids at my house have finally been able to walk around and play among themselves. They're just so jovial and curious about everything, they attempted to climb up my jeans once, whilst I was standing and cooking!
I took these photos over a course of 2 days... One about a couple of weeks ago, another fresh out this week. As you can see, the first set suffered in terms of quality (taken at night), and the kittens were still shy and unable to walk properly.
This is one of them - there are 5 kittens in total, by the way. 3 girls and 2 boys. ^ is a boy.
All three of the girls are pure white, the same as their mum. Looking at her "eyebrows", she's probably thinking along the lines of "Hmmm... I dounch like you."
The new set however, was taken fresh this morning, and I thought probably it would be a good idea to post them up for a bit of "AWWW"-nessity!
I have no idea why, but while I was having breakfast this morning, one minute they were playing around, running and pouncing on each other, and the next, all of them suddenly decided to sleep in the middle of the pathway!
His eyes are quite interesting, and I like him a lot la - he always look at me/my camera one! Very photogenic!
This was when the mother (as she does always for some reason) came over to stand between me and the cat. Peekaboo?
Sleeping in the sunshine.
Crashing the party!
And when the mum's feeding them, she looks so relaxed. Mother's beauty I suppose?
Ok la! That's all for this post. I hope you guys liked it. And subscribe to me via email if you want, it's under the tagboard! ANDDD in response to Wynn's complains, since I'm using Firefox, I don't receive much pop-ups (nya ha ha) but I'l be looking out for a new box then. Thanks for the feedback!

Time to head Home (?)
I just received news that my interview at PwC UK has not been successful after all. Looking at the job offer from PwC Malaysia, I think I might be heading home after all, huh?
其实不想走,其实我想留。
(actually I don't want to go, actually I want to stay (they're lyrics of a song from Emil Chau)
Sigh. My tour of UK end liao meh?
それはまだ終わっていない.
(it's not over yet.)
CANNOT LA! MY TRAVEL GAO-GAO FIRST!!!
My offer from PwC is due to start in September, i.e. I've got like 4 months more before it starts. My tenancy contract ends in June, what a time to end. Gotta start planning ahead, then.
But I believe a phone call back home is imminent first. >_<

Weather Forecast
Through my splendid eye, I forecast a great sunny weather tommorrow, without a speck of clouds in the deep blue sky. Seagulls will soar past me, as the sounds of bobbling boats knock against the wooden pillars of the pier.
We will walk on small brown pebbles of different shapes and tones, as the salty sea wind blows through our hair. We will chat and laugh and enjoy about all sorts of things, while we menikmati freshly fried fish and chips from the local store...
Cause tommorrow... I am going to....

5 Mistakes Chunhowe thought He made during his first ever interview
1. Not focused on the task at hand.
Wasn't thinking straight, thought he could just go in and blabber anything that comes to mind. Clearly a sign of not taking the initiative of organising and directing out his thoughts in an structured manner. Disaster.
2. Wasn't confident in speech.
As a result of the first mistake, the second mistake soon surfaced. Too much stammering, too much "arrs and errs", too little to talk about myself. Shuffled himself a deck of disadvantaged cards.
3. Under-prepared, but not due to over-confidence.
Clearly some generic questions could be handled more confidently and more structurely. Should have realised what the interviewer was asking and where the conversation subsequently should or would go. Such pre-emption should have been done but the ground work wasn't laid well enough in time.
4. Not realising ownselves' peril until the end.
Didn't realise how deep in shit he was until he realised it eventually, but unfortunately too late for anything to be salvaged. Should have woken up early, and at least save as much as he could. The proverb goes, it is better to late than never. In Chunhowe's case, once it is too late, it's gone.
5. Not using God-sent gifts from the interviewer.
Using the tool of the enemy to bite himself, Chunhowe once said. Using the arrows of the opponent, 孔明 once said. Combining this ignorance with total blur-ness, Chunhowe just graced himself with the cold despair of fiery hell. He should have seized control of the interviewer's question and NOT focus on answering the question as to one's liking, but to direct the conversation to unveil one's strength.
Oh well, one grows from his experiences and I hope I have. I have another interview tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Updates!
I have been neglecting this blog recently, haven't I? So much for my earlier promises of at least 2 posts a week has gradually trickled down to 1 per week. All hail the power of life-has-been-not-that-interesting-ness, and I-live-with-much-jimat-ness!
Have been nursing a bad back, a sore thigh for the past 2 days. omg-ish, I suspect one, execising without the proper warm-up (which I know, should have known, but I forgot) and two, blaming my mattress for being lousy. Having a few restless nights recently thou, for some reason. Last night's was that scenes of Torres scoring the 1st Liverpool goal flashing back in my mind. =.=" right?
Have been under some pressure to get my spare time organised and constructive. It's just simply amazing how time flies without you worrying about it.
My roommate can sleep even through fire and water. =.= But he cannot sleep when I type on my keyboard. =.="""
And for an ending, how about this pictures on Andrew's 22nd birthday celebrations (since I have nothing to update about and it seems like he's not planning to do anything with the pictures...):
Andrew upon receiving his birthday cake.
Boyish smile.
Self-baked cake, by Yani.
His birthday present.
... And the result of 5 glasses of wine and 2 shots of Vodka does to you.
Ok la, that's all!
