American Alternatives (edited)

This is no hate post, thou. Just thought of some interesting stuff to be shared. There was an article from today's The Sun left me quite amused. Here's an short paragraph:

"...They should know better than anyone dislike "sahkerr" as if it's their national duty. Weened on macho pursuits, they think it's un-American, low-scoring and girlish. Which is why we in the rest of the world should hope that they don't change. We don't want them to take the world game seriously as, if they did, they would change it - and screw it up. They would want time-outs, four quarters and all the other nonsense that make their own sports unwatchable to the rest of us. " - Becks will convince Yanks it's a girl's game. Bob Holmes 16/1/2007

LOLs~

In addition to the fire, I did a bit of research too...

  • Rugby, an originally British sport. Adapting the name of one of the world's most famous sport, modified to be known as American FOOTBALL.
  • Baseball is one of the most profitable and well-received sport in America. Interestingly, their so-called "World Series" only has American teams in it.
  • There are no teams from America which participates in F1/MotoGP, but instead, American have a league of their own, called NASCARs. In addition, they like drag races that promote sheer engine muscle involving comparatively minimum driving skills.
Alah, what do American have?
  • NBA! One of the most watched sport around the world. But interestingly, Malaysia news do minimal reports on it, nor do they have 4 spreads in the newspapers. Even when Allen Iverson went to Nuggets (not sure?), the report was only as visible as a germ.
  • Golf... Tiger what?
  • Baseball. For some reason, it isn't popular here. As far as I know, the only batting range is in 1 Utama. On the rooftop. =.="
Somehow, American just want to have it differently. Their culture? Its really tough to say. On the same note, America was never a British colony. And when they raised up to power, I guess its a way to emphasise (emphasize) their superiority?

Just random streaks of thoughts... cheers~!
